Annotation:

 

The main goal of the project is: 1- to analyze the effect of proton therapy (p.t.) on function of cardiovascular system (CVS) in normal conditions and under stress situation. 2- to characterize the adverse effect of proton therapy on cardiovascular system with use of physiological, pharmacological, electron - microscopical and selected biochemical and imunochemical methods with the aim to search the function of CVS in experiments in vivo (anesthetized and artificially ventilated animals), on isolated organ, isolated heart perfused according Langendorff) and on isolated heart cells. 3- to search prevention possibilities of the adverse effect of p.t. on CVS by free radicals scavenging and stabilization of membranes of endothelial and muscle cells. In experiments mainly Wistar rats will be used. 4- Results will be used (in cooperation with clinitians) for improvement of the quality of life of oncological patients.
